Licensed Professional Counselor -- Mental Health

My intention is to work collaboratively with you to affirm your strengths and identify your challenges. In that process, we will find ways to support your growth into the unique human being you are created to be. My areas of interest and training are all related to developing greater integrity between who we are and how we live our daily lives. These include: finding new life after betrayal/trauma, assessing and treating ADHD and Asperger's, and exploring issues of sexuality and gender identity and health.

I completed a post-doctoral clinical psychology residency with an emphasis on assessment and treatment of ADHD and related conditions (Asperger's, etc.). A particular area of interest is working with women and girls, because the symptoms of these conditions appear differently than in men, and so they are often misdiagnosed and misunderstood. I also have over a decade of cross-cultural training, research, and work in trauma recovery. In addition, I have specialized training in gender health, and over two decades of experience accompanying persons in exploring their gender identity, including LGBTQ issues. I am currently completing an international gender health specialty certification through WPATH.

I have been a spiritual director for over 30 years. In addition to my PhD in clinical psychology, I also completed a doctorate in spirituality & leadership; I’ve led workshops and courses on these topics in both community and university settings. My work with individuals, faith communities, and non-profit organizations is focused on living with integrity, developing teams of leaders, handling conflict creatively, and making a significant difference in the world.

I have accompanied persons from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, including persons of Native American, Hispanic/Latino, African and African-American heritage.
